Viral Advertisement by ‘Mothers Against Greg Abbott’ Expertly Takes Down the Douchebag
A group of moms took on Texas Governor Greg Abbott and his anti-abortion/pro-forced birth position when they posted a sardonic political advertisement that instantly went viral on social media. Mothers Against Greg Abbot PAC posted the short video ad on Twitter and it quickly gained over 5 million views and is now being shared on Instagram, Facebook, and other outlets. After watching it myself, my personal reaction is, “It’s funny. But it’s not. Because it’s too real.”

The Viral Anti-Greg Abbott Advertisement
The ad created by the political action committee known as Mothers Against Greg Abbott sets the scene with a troubled couple anxiously waiting in a doctor’s office. The doctor solemnly enters and informs them that he is sorry, but their unborn fetus has a “catastrophic brain abnormality.”
He states, “Your daughter if she is to survive, will live only a matter of hours after birth. During that time, she will experience a multitude of seizures and ultimately aspirate on her own bodily fluids. She will suffer.” Then goes on to say, “A decision will need to be made on termination. I wish I could tell you what to do, but there is only one person who can make this choice…”
The teary-eyed pregnant woman asks how much time she has, but is interrupted by the doctor who says,”… and that person is Greg.”
“Who the f**k is Greg?” the father asks.
“Let me just give him a call,” the doctor replies. He then claps his hands to turn on a light above a small cabinet with the Republican governor’s photo on it. He opens the cabinet which has a red phone that he picks up to make a phone call.
“Hey Greg, Dr. Robinson here,” the doctor says. “Listen, I’ve got a pregnancy that could… Yes, but I think this one is the… Yes, okay. Sure, sure… Okay, I’ll let them know.”
After hanging up the phone, the doctor tells the couple: “Yeah, that’s gonna be a no. Best of luck to you.”
The commercial ends with a question on screen: “Whose choice should it be?”

Who is Mothers Against Greg Abbott?
As explained on their website, Mothers Against Greg Abbott State PAC is a group of Moms, dads, Uncles, Aunts, and Grandparents who want change for Texas Families. They say that they are made up of a diverse group of Texans who are a mix of Democrats, Moderate Republicans, and Independents who are ready to work together for change for Texas.
The group’s website explains that it opposes Abbott because he and the Texas Republican Party “have neighbors turning against neighbors by putting a bounty on those who seek health care choices that they don’t agree with. They are taking our personal freedom over our own bodies!”
Along with taking on Abbott’s anti-abortion policies, Mother’s Against Greg Abbott are pro-essential workers, vaccine mandates, voting rights, stopping gerrymandering, supporting Military families, and LGBTQIA+ rights.
They are ready to stand up against book bans and loose gun laws, and they are ready to demand the Texas Grid be fixed and Texas creates an energy plan that plans for our future with global warming.
But in short, Mother’s Against Greg Abbott is what happens when you piss off Texas women.
