But when a relationship ends, not only are women faced with contending with the heartache and the personal turmoil that comes with the loss of that love, they also also are forced to redefine the parameters of who they are.

Over time, it’s not unusual for women to see themselves exclusively through the lens of their relationships. Until relatively recently, social conditioning and societal expectations have defined women’s status and success by their relationships with men. Fall in love with your old hobbies and passions again. Watch the movies and binge on shows your ex hated and do the things you did less of because of them. Establish what you want and expect for yourself before bringing someone new into your life.

With so many dating apps out there, you can choose your niche

And HER is an app for queer women, making dating easeir for the LGBTQ female population. It’s great meeting a wide variety of people, but finding people with whom you can share similar interests, experiences or upbringings can be a useful shortcut to rapport.

Meet people as many ways as you can

Of course, while dating apps are useful for women who area ready to start a new relationships, they are by no means the only way in which you can meet new people. The more you’re out there socializing and meeting new people, the more chance you have of encountering that special someone. As alluring as nights in with Netflix can be, streaming services can’t cuddle you to sleep at night! Join a dance class. Start taking cooking lessons. Learn to paint or sculpt.
