Your Guide to Women’s Events in 2019

Women’s Events: Better than your average work convention:

I’ve been to my fair share of conventions during the course of my career. They generally involve several long speeches, a series of tedious working groups, some mediocre catered meals, and (if I’m lucky) a selection of interesting field trips. Due to the nature of my work, they also generally involve an overwhelming proportion of men to women – maybe 10:1 or more.

The Rise of Women’s Events

In the last decade or so, I’ve noticed an increasing number of large, sponsored events and conventions specifically aimed at women and women’s issues. The seeming difference between these types of conventions and the work-oriented ones I’ve attended in the past is that their focus is more directed at building the person instead of the job. Maybe this is just because they are different types of conventions, but I strongly suspect it has more to do with them being organized by and for women.

Better by women, for women:

At She Explores Life, we believe that women, as a community, have much to teach and learn from each other. These events seem to have the same idea, and I’m eager to attend one of them in 2019 to see for myself. I’ve been doing some research in that vein, and happened across a number of inspiring options that I thought might interest our readership as well.

2019 Events:

They put on by a variety of organizations dedicated to empowering and connecting women across the country and the world. WOW Conference
WOW is one of the longest running women’s spirituality conferences. Since 1993 WOW has been providing a unique, intimate setting for women to create lasting change in their lives and in the world.
