Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

This is one of my absolute favorite destinations for a girlfriend’s getaway. With a pristine stretch of beach that embraces the crystal blue Bahía de Banderas, the city of Puerto Vallarta rests against the backdrop of lush palm-covered mountains. Spend your days, relaxing poolside at a resort or on the beach while gazing at the ocean. Or up the adventure zip lining through the jungle, swimming with dolphins and surfing.

If you like a bit of luxury with your girlfriend’s getaway adventure, The Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, takes the all-inclusive experience to the next level. The suites feature contemporary décor and stunning ocean views. You can indulge in onsite dining options that take you around the world, and after a day filled with activity, their spa will leave you feeling anew.

Places to see while you are in Puerto Vallarta:

Malecón Esplanade—a 12-block stretch with eateries, art and shopping.

Los Muertos Beach—a beach with water sports and food and drink spots.

Zona Romantica—An awesome LGBTQ spot with fantastic dance clubs, incredible restaurants, and charming courtyard cafes.

I suggest signing up for an adventure or two with Vallarta Adventures. The zip line excursion is incredible, and the luxury sailing was super fun.

We do NOT suggest doing the dolphin swim with them. We only support swimming with the dolphin adventures that don’t include captive animals.

Please use a place like Wildlife Connection, where you meet dolphins in their natural environment. I highly recommend this experience. It was a life-changer.

Destin, FL

Enjoy the sugar-white sand beaches of Florida without the crowds in Destin. It’s true, when women travel to oceanside destinations, they like to lay in the sand with cocktails in hand and soak up the sun. Destin is the perfect place for that and more. Set up your women’s basecamp at The Henderson Beach Resort where you can stay in a luxurious suite or rent a loft for your girl crew.

Known for its incredible Salamander Spa, your massage will be waiting for you at the Henderson after you’ve spent the day swimming in the ocean, SUPPing, and fishing the local waters. We suggest Lion’s Tale Adventures for your Destin charter fishing experience.

Get your adrenaline pumping with a helicopter ride over the area. Timberview Choppers give customers panoramic views of the city, harbor and surrounding areas. It’s an experience you and your girlfriend’s won’t soon forget.

The Henderson is home to superb eateries, but you can enjoy local fare at the Beachwalk Café where you dine on Shrimp and Grits, Blackened Crusted Yellow Fin Tuna, and Pan Seared Red Snapper. The food is as incredible as the view, as you dine right on the beach overlooking the emerald coast.

Park City, Utah

Park City is a great place for you and your friends to go year-round, especially if you like skiing and snowboarding. But you don’t have to be into snow sports to have a great time with your friends. Women who love to travel can get their kicks at the Utah Olympic Park where you can bobsled even when the temps are high, and the sun is shining. There’s nothing like tearing down the track at over 70 miles per-hour for some epic bonding time with your gal pals. Additional activities the park features include zip lining, a variety of rope courses and guided tours. If you like your adventure a little more low-key, bike or hike the area’s many trails for incredible views with a side of forest bathing.

You’ll find the perfect Park City accommodations at Park City Peaks Hotel. This cozy, mid-century spot features a pool, spa, and onsite equipment rentals. When you get hungry, head to High West Distillery, a old-timey saloon that specializes in whiskey spirits and a taste of the old west. Other eateries worth consideration are Hearth & Hill, which describes itself contemporary American cuisine and serves options like Grilled Chicken, Chilled Soba Noodles, and the classic BLT.

Bend, OR

This Oregon spot is perfect for women who love to hike, bike, climb and drink beer. The Oxford is an Eco-Chic Boutique hotel located right in the bustling downtown area. It offers women the perfect guilt-free, luxury experience with modern rooms only steps away from shopping, fine dining, and a whole lot of fun.

Head to Smith Rock State Park for world-class climbing and hiking opportunities. If a wild, watery ride is more your thing, raft the rapids of the Deschutes River. You’ll find great guides at River Drifters. And if you prefer a calmer river experience, kayaking, SUPPing, tubing the calmer waters near the downtown area is ever popular with visitors and locals.

You have to experience the famous Deschutes Brewery if you’ve never been to Bend Before. But, don’t stop there, Bend is home to an insane number of breweries. You’ll never be able to hit them all. But, you can get a good number in with the Bend Trolly Pub Crawl.

When you get hungry, head to 10 Below located in the basement of the Oxford for urban organic bites and excellent cocktails. Other options worth considering include the award-winning Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails, The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin, and Five Fusion Sushi.
