Girls Guide to VIP Travel without VIP Prices

Enjoy Luxury Travel Without the Price Tag

Let’s be honest , we all want to indulge in VIP travel. Given the option, we’d prefer to be living it up on business class flights and in 5-star hotels than squeezing into regular plane seats and slumming it in hostels (granted, this can be a lot of fun). Unfortunately, luxury comes with sky-high prices, and what your heart wants, and what your bank account can provide, may be two different things. Don’t lose hope, girl! Here’s how to travel fancy, without the fancy prices. We’ve put together your girls guide to VIP Travel, without having to pay those VIP prices.

A Girls Guide to VIP Travel

Consider the location

OK, if you’re thinking of flying out to somewhere like Bali right now then you may want to save up for, well, the rest of forever. However, there are some emerging travel locations like Cambodia and Vietnam that aren’t tourist traps, but can still offer luxury and relaxation by the bucket load. Additionally, traveling inside the US is likely to reduce the price tag on your girls getaways. Consider locations like Portland, Oregon; Bend, Oregon; Los Angeles, California, or locations in Colorado.

Bottom line, really look into your options, and consider going off the beaten path. This will allow you to get more bang for your buck, while still living your best life in those 5 star resorts.

Be a flight booking pro

Booking flights for your girls getaway is all about persistence, and not throwing your money at the first airline that will take you to where you need to go. Check out Skyscanner and Google flights, and see whether tweaking your dates will help you to bag yourself a deal. Alternatively, if you’re looking for mega-luxury then it’s worthwhile seeking out empty legs on a charter jet, which bring significant discounts on the fanciest planes ever. You know what they say: Go big or stay home?

Remember that timing is everything

Sometimes, you can save yourself a whole lot of money just by moving your girls getaway to a different date. Try looking at the prices a month earlier or a month later than you had originally planned, and see what your options are. Sure, it may be a few degrees colder, but there are also going to be a) less tourists around, and b) cheaper rooms in those first-class hotels. Do some digging, and move your dates a little.

Similarly, consider changing up which days of the week you travel on. VIP travel is far more realistic with mid-week flights. Weekend are popular, so you may want to skip them or extend your trip so flight dates fall closer to midweek.

Check out airport and airline lounges

For a real VIP travel experience, you’ll want to check out airport and airline lounges. There are plenty of options out there if you want to get your foot in the door of the airport (or airline) lounge, and it doesn’t cost as much as you’d think. Sure, it may put you out around $25, but you’ll find that there is unlimited food and drink on offer in most of them. This means that you’re avoiding spending $25 on a below par airport meal, and you get unlimited cocktails. You can also find discounts for them online! How’s that for avoiding VIP prices?

Try out a new hotel

When hotels first open their doors to the public, they don’t have a wealth of reviews to fall back onto. Because of this, it can be hard to get people to book, as they are essentially booking blindly. However, if you know that a hotel is set to be a luxurious 4 or 5 star resort, then it’s worth trying it out early as this is when you can access luxury accomodations without paying VIP prices. If you’re a writer or reviewer, then you may be able to get a stay for free, too.

With this girls guide to luxury travel, you can enjoy living your best VIP travel life, on a budget!
